Personal Background: I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and going to a Bible teaching church. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at an early age but never realized until age 19 that I could have a personal and intimate relationship with Him. My college years were a pivotal time in my life and totally transformed my mental and spiritual life. Through God’s leading, I began to explore the concept of a Christian gap year.

In January 2013, I joined a team of alumni from the G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain and together we worked hard to create G42U Christian Gap Year in Fredericksburg, Texas. Our program {September 2014 - May 2015} included discipleship classes, community service, adventure trips, and teaching life skills. Our main focus was to help each student learn their identity in Christ, grow in their relationship with the Holy Spirit and find out how they can have an impact on the world around them.

After being ordained, I moved to Denver, Colorado, still having a deep desire to affect the next generation. Reflecting on what I had learned during my experience in Texas, I felt led by God to pursue starting this ministry in Denver. After much prayer and a lot of research, I put together a proposal for a new program called Denver Gap Year. We received our nonprofit status at the beginning of 2017 and are currently working towards the goal of launching in the fall of 2021.
